Who We AreWe are a group of people who strive to bring the power of capes to the smallest superheroes in Dallas. We make super hero capes one Saturday afternoon a month at Union Coffee House. Our superheroes and sidekicks then unite to deliver capes to hospitalized children, or children with long term illnesses and disabilities in Dallas hospitals. We remind the superheroes of their abilities to fight and defeat their "super-villain," or disease process.
We also create little sidekick teddy bears from the scrap fabric and each child gets to pick their bear, decorate it, stuff it and give it a cape. Because every hero needs a super sidekick! |
Our History We are a volunteer based organization out of Union Coffee House. Capes 4 Kids is the brain child of two nurses with an idea to bring happiness to kids who are fighting their own super villains every day in the form of illness.
We began making super hero capes in 2014 and are working towards getting capes to the smallest heroes across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We had a Kickstater campaign in Spring of 2014 and raised over $3000! Thanks to all of our backers then and everyone who supports us now! |
